The Hook: Use this workflow to add individual equipment to your inventory manually, create "Lot" assets for bulk items (like safes), or clone existing assets to quickly populate similar equipment.
Prerequisites:
• You must have Site Administrator or Site Manager permissions.
• Asset Types and Locations must be configured in the system before adding assets.
The Steps:
Method A: Adding a New Asset Manually
1. Navigate to Assets > Asset Management > Asset Tree.
2. Select the + (Plus) icon to open the New Asset window.
3. Enter a Description for the asset (e.g., "AHU-01 East Wing"). Fields marked with an asterisk are required.
4. Search for and select the appropriate Asset Type and Point Type.
5. Click Save.
6. Select the Location drop-down list and choose the physical location of the asset.
7. Enter any remaining details (Manufacturer, Model, Serial Number) and click Save and Exit.
Method B: Copying an Existing Asset
1. Navigate to Assets > Asset Management > Asset Tree.
2. Locate the asset you wish to duplicate in the grid.
3. Select the Copy icon next to the asset.
4. Enter the new Asset ID and change the Point Type if necessary.
5. Click Save.
6. Enter the new Current Point ID (the unique barcode number for the new item).
7. Verify and update specific data points (Serial Number, etc.), then click Save and Exit.
Method C: Creating "Lot" Type Assets Use this for groups of identical items that do not require individual barcoding (e.g., 200 Room Safes).
1. Navigate to the Asset Tree and search for "Lot" to display Lot types.
2. Select the specific Lot type and click the + (Plus) icon.
3. Enter the Description and Asset ID, then click Save.
4. Scroll to the Asset By Lot section.
5. Enter the Quantity (e.g., 250) to represent the total number of items this asset record covers.
6. Click Save and Exit.
The Result: The new asset appears in the Asset Tree and is available for Work Order generation and scheduling.
