Use this workflow to document and assign generic safety procedures (such as Lockout/Tagout instructions) to groups of assets. These notes appear on the mobile device to warn engineers of hazardous energy sources before they begin work.
Prerequisites:
• Site Administrator or Site Manager permissions required.
• Point Types must be established in the system before assigning notes.
The Steps:
Phase 1: Create the Safety Group Notation
1. Navigate to Assets > Asset Management > Manage Safety Groups.
2. Click the Add Safety Group button.
3. Enter a Description for the notation (e.g., "Electrical Lockout Procedure").
4. Enter the specific Details of the procedure (e.g., "Shut off breaker panel A, apply lock, test for zero energy").
5. Click Save.
Phase 2: Assign the Safety Group to Assets
1. Navigate to Assets > Asset Management > Assign Safety Groups.
2. Locate the Asset & Point Type Tree Directory on the left side of the screen.
3. Select the specific Point Type you wish to associate with the safety note (e.g., "Air Handling Unit").
4. Click the Associate Safety Group button above the grid.
5. In the pop-up window, click the Select Safety Group button next to the notation created in Phase 1.
6. Click Close.
The Result: The safety notation is now linked to every asset of that Point Type. When a mobile user opens a work order for these assets, the Safety Note will display, and they must acknowledge it to proceed.
